|
Here is What You'll Need:
- 1 16 oz. bag of mini marshmallows (Good quality)
- 2 lbs (about 8 cups) of SIFTED Powdered sugar
- 2 Tablespoons of water
- 1/2 C. of solid vegetable shortening
- 2 lbs (about 8 cups) of SIFTED Powdered sugar
- 2 Tablespoons of water
- 1/2 C. of solid vegetable shortening
Step 5.)
This is where the shortening comes in. Apply a layer of the shortening on your work surface and hands liberally. Less is NOT more in this case. More is better. This is a sticky, messy, project. However, the shortening makes it managable. *
NOTE: Make sure your counter is super clean, along with your hands. Also, don't wear clothes that have any fibers loose fibers, such as a wool sweater. Everything shows up in white fondant, so be careful.

-Fondant Questions-Question: Why does my fondant have little bits of sugar clumps in it? I can't get rid of them.
Answer: This is a frustrating situation that occurs if you don't sift your powdered sugar. I learned this the hard way, and there really isn't much you can do to fix it. So make sure to sift your sugar! Question: How long can I save my fondant?
Answer: If you double wrap your fondant and seal it in a bag, you can refrigerate it for at least 6 weeks. |
